Our Story

Born of Necessity

Nutritional supplement use by Americans has been a growing trend since the 1970s. Today, they are estimated to be used by 77% of the U.S. population. Supplements are intended to provide us with essential nutrients, minerals, and vitamins that may be missing from our diets. However, the quality and safety of these products can be difficult to assess due to the lack of regulation in the dietary supplement industry. Unlike prescription drugs, the FDA does not review dietary supplements before they hit the market. Instead, supplement manufacturers are responsible for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of their products. While some reputable companies take this responsibility seriously, many cut corners to increase profits. This leads to supplements that are contaminated or contain inaccurate amounts of active ingredients.

Sports supplements adulterated with prohibited substances can destroy an athlete's career, and prenatal vitamins contaminated with toxins can have detrimental effects to both the mother and her baby. Chemical analysis is necessary now more than ever to provide crucial information about the quality, purity, and potency of supplements, which is essential to ensuring their safety. We at Chromate have decided to tackle this problem head on, making supplement analysis accessible to all by offering our services at affordable prices, and using those proceeds to fund a public testing initiative aimed at protecting the health and fitness community as a whole.
